The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Performance Designer to join a fast-scaling mission-backed DTC wellness brand in the consumer health space — as their first dedicated performance creative hire, you’ll own static and short-form video production for paid social from the ground up, establishing the workflows, templates, and systems the team will scale on. This is a hands-on, high-output role built for a growth-oriented storyteller who judges their work by CTR, hook rates, and hold rates rather than aesthetics alone; you’ll turn raw inputs — UGC, founder content, and existing footage — into 20–25 on-brand ad-ready assets per week, iterate relentlessly against what the data says, and use AI to move faster with a lean asset library. If you thrive with loose briefs, no inherited playbook, and a genuine bias toward what performs, this role was built for you.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

Performance Creative Production: Design statics and edit short-form video for paid social — Meta first, with TikTok and YouTube to follow — turning raw inputs including UGC, founder content, and existing footage into ad-ready creative across hooks, formats, and placements; produce roughly 20–25 on-brand assets per week.

Motion & GIF Creation: Build GIFs and motion content for use across paid and organic channels.

Data-Driven Iteration: Live in the metrics — CTR, hook rate, hold rate — and let them drive what you make next; take a winning creative and build the next round off it with new hooks, treatments, and cuts designed to beat the current best.

AI-Accelerated Workflow: Leverage AI tools to stretch a limited asset library, generate content faster, and bring informed points of view on the angles worth testing next.

Creative Infrastructure: Establish the creative workflows, templates, and production systems the team will scale on — keeping files and versions organized and holding the brand steady as volume grows.
What You Bring

Performance Design Experience: 2–3+ years designing for paid social or performance marketing in a DTC or eCommerce environment, with a portfolio that demonstrates work judged by results, not just aesthetics.

Video Editing & Static Design: Strong short-form video editing skills for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube — plus solid static design fundamentals including pacing, hierarchy, typography, and on-brand polish.

Paid Social & Metrics Fluency: Working knowledge of paid social ad specs and best practices (especially Meta), and genuine fluency in CTR, hook rate, and hold rate — with the ability to translate those signals into the next round of creative.

Self-Starter Mindset: Proven comfort thriving with loose briefs, shifting priorities, and no existing playbook — bringing structure and process to ambiguous environments rather than waiting for them.

AI Curiosity & QA Instincts: Comfort and curiosity using AI in the creative workflow, paired with strong QA instincts for design dimensions, file types, brand consistency, and detail accuracy.

Tools: Proficiency in Figma and Canva; GrowthAssistant AI Certification (101 + Design Accelerator) required or to be completed upon onboarding.
Bonus Points if:
- You have experience creating UGC-style paid social creative and founder-led content.
- You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Final Cut, or CapCut.
- You have experience with creative-ops and ad tools such as Foreplay, Motion, or Atria.
- You have a background in DTC, wellness, supplements, or other consumer brand environments.
