Who We Are
GrowthAssistant connects top marketing and operations talent with fast-growing companies that depend on great execution to scale. Founded in 2021 and named by Forbes as one of the best startups to work at, we're a permanently remote team that runs on integrity, proactive candor, and a bias toward action — and we prioritize the human experience in everything we do. We hire for skill and for heart, and we invest in our people for the long haul.
The Opportunity
We're hiring a Research & Data Validation Specialist to join a data intelligence platform serving public affairs, government relations, and enterprise stakeholder engagement clients — someone with a sharp investigative eye, a process-oriented mindset, and the ability to maintain precision at high volume and speed. You'll own the validation and quality assurance of large stakeholder datasets spanning elected officials, Fortune 500 executives, and public-facing decision-makers; cross-referencing records across LinkedIn, government sources, news publications, and online databases; documenting discrepancies; and keeping mission-critical data current as leadership transitions and public announcements continuously reshape the landscape.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
-
Stakeholder Validation: Review and validate large lists of executives, elected officials, and public-facing professionals — confirming current roles, titles, organizations, and elected offices against multiple public sources including LinkedIn, company websites, news publications, government resources, and online databases
-
Data Cleaning & Correction: Identify and correct misspellings, outdated records, duplicate entries, and inaccurate company or title data; validate that LinkedIn and public profiles correspond to the correct individual
-
Discrepancy Management: Investigate record discrepancies, document unresolved issues within QA tracking workflows, and maintain detailed discrepancy logs and escalation notes for records that cannot be confidently verified
-
Dataset Maintenance: Work within Google Sheets to update, organize, and maintain validated datasets; assist with maintaining frequently changing stakeholder records including elected officials, Fortune 500 leadership, and administration changes
-
News & Transition Monitoring: Monitor leadership transitions, current events, and public announcements that may impact stakeholder data accuracy; support high-volume research workflows with quick turnaround expectations
-
QA Process Adherence: Follow standardized QA procedures and SOPs to ensure consistency and accuracy across all deliverables; support list-building and enrichment projects as business needs evolve
-
Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with client services and operations teams to ensure data quality standards are maintained and client-facing outputs meet the highest levels of accuracy
What You Bring
-
Research & Investigative Skills: Strong online research instincts with the ability to independently verify information across multiple public-facing sources and exercise sound judgment when identifying discrepancies or escalating uncertain records
-
Data Validation Experience: Demonstrated experience validating or cleaning large datasets with a high degree of accuracy; comfortable working with large list-based operational workflows under deadline-driven turnaround expectations
-
Spreadsheet Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets or equivalent spreadsheet-based tools for organizing, updating, and maintaining validated datasets
-
Attention to Detail & Pattern Recognition: Exceptional eye for detail and pattern recognition; able to maintain precision and focus across high-volume, repetitive, process-driven workflows for extended periods
-
Communication & Documentation: Excellent written communication and organizational skills with strong documentation habits; able to maintain clean discrepancy logs and escalation notes with clarity and consistency
-
LinkedIn Profile: An active, up-to-date LinkedIn profile is required for this role
Bonus Points if:
- You have experience with lead generation, prospect research, or contact validation workflows
- You have familiarity with political, public affairs, government, or executive stakeholder research — including experience researching elected officials, public executives, or Fortune 500 leadership
- You're familiar with research platforms such as LinkedIn, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Ballotpedia, Wikipedia, or similar public information sources
- You have experience in client services, operations, or research-heavy support roles, or exposure to QA workflows and data governance processes
- You have familiarity with Google Alerts, monitoring workflows, or public information tracking tools
