The Opportunity

We're hiring a Performance Marketing Manager, Paid Search to own the hands-on execution layer at a performance-driven digital marketing agency that manages paid search and performance media across Google's full channel suite for a growing portfolio of clients — owning keyword architecture, bid strategy, testing roadmaps, and conversion tracking end to end while serving as the direct point of contact for client performance communications, with a clear path to expanding into broader channel strategy and creative direction as the relationship deepens.


What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

  • Google Ads Campaign Management: Own daily execution across Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Display, and YouTube — campaign setup, activation, pacing, and in-platform optimization in partnership with the internal strategy and budget owner on final decisions.
  • Keyword Strategy: Lead keyword research, match-type structure, ad group architecture, and negative keyword list management; run ongoing search term mining to cut waste and capture new demand.
  • Bid & Budget Management: Manage bid strategies (tCPA, tROAS, manual CPC) and budget pacing within guardrails; recommend larger budget shifts to the strategy owner with a clear rationale.
  • Testing & Optimization: Build and run the testing roadmap — A/B tests on ad variations, bidding strategies, audiences, and assets; always keep a live experiment running, scale winners, and cut losers fast.
  • Conversion Tracking & Reporting: Own conversion tracking hygiene, UTM discipline, and clean reporting tied to pipeline; prepare client-ready performance dashboards and reports — bring the diagnosis, not just the numbers.
  • Retargeting: Build and manage RLSA and Display remarketing campaigns to re-engage site visitors and warm prospects.
  • Client Communication: Own client communications directly across Slack, email, and video calls — delivering status updates, performance readouts, and actionable recommendations with proactive escalation instincts.
  • Creative Collaboration: Partner with the internal designer to brief and pressure-test responsive search, Display, and YouTube assets; propose creative testing routes to improve performance. (Ad copy is produced internally.)


What You Bring

  • Paid Search Expertise: 3+ years managing Google Ads hands-on (Search, Shopping, and Performance Max) at the execution level — not just agency oversight; agency experience strongly preferred with comfort managing multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Keyword & Audience Discipline: Strong keyword, match-type, and negative keyword management plus deep search term mining skills to drive efficiency and capture new demand.
  • Analytical & Testing Mindset: Strong ability to interpret performance data and recommend actions with conviction; hands-on A/B testing experience with comfort making bid and budget calls within guardrails and cutting losers fast.
  • Measurement Stack Fluency: Solid grasp of conversion tracking, attribution, UTM hygiene, and tying paid spend to pipeline in a CRM (Salesforce a plus).
  • Reporting & Communication: Strong reporting in Excel/Google Sheets and a dashboard tool (Looker Studio or similar); excellent written and verbal communication with a proactive client communication style and availability for US Eastern hours.


Bonus Points if:

  • You hold a Google Ads certification
  • You have experience with Microsoft/Bing Ads
  • You have basic creative editing skills (Canva) and an eye for what converts
