Who We Are
GrowthAssistant connects top marketing and operations talent with fast-growing companies that depend on great execution to scale. Founded in 2021 and named by Forbes as one of the best startups to work at, we’re a permanently remote team that runs on integrity, proactive candor, and a bias toward action — and we prioritize the human experience in everything we do. We hire for skill and for heart, and we invest in our people for the long haul.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Video Editing Specialist (Social) to join a fast-growing DTC consumer brand in the personal care and lifestyle space — producing 15–20 high-quality short-form social videos per week (7–60 seconds) for Meta platforms, primarily from existing footage, creator content, and brand assets. You’ll follow structured creative briefs in ClickUp to execute core edits and produce multiple hook and pacing variations per concept to support performance testing; apply retention best practices including strong hooks, dynamic jump cuts, on-screen captions, and platform-aligned sound design; and maintain brand tone and visual consistency across formats. This role is built for a reliable, high-output editor who executes with precision inside repeatable workflows and handles feedback without defensiveness.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
-
High-Volume Short-Form Editing: Edit 15–20 short-form social videos per week (7–60 seconds) using existing footage, creator content, and brand assets — following structured creative briefs in ClickUp that include scripts, inspiration links, footage, dimensions, and deadlines.
-
Batch Variation Production: Produce multiple variations of a core edit per concept — adjusting hooks, intros, pacing, or sequencing to support performance testing across Meta platforms.
-
Retention Best Practices: Apply social video retention best practices including strong opening hooks, dynamic pacing and jump cuts, on-screen captions and text overlays, and sound design aligned with platform trends.
-
Brand Consistency & Asset Management: Maintain brand tone, voice, and visual style across formats and creators; pull supplemental b-roll from the existing asset library as needed; organize and maintain project files, templates, and exported assets for reuse and scale.
-
Revisions & Adjacent Support: Manage revisions efficiently based on clear client feedback with fast, reliable turnaround times; support occasional adjacent marketing tasks (up to approximately 25% of workload), with training provided by the client team.
What You Bring
-
Video Editing Experience: 3+ years of hands-on video editing experience with at least 2 years focused on short-form social content, and proficiency in at least one modern editing tool (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar — tooling is flexible).
-
Social Storytelling Instincts: Strong instincts for pacing, rhythm, sequencing, and hook development for digital audiences — with the ability to produce 15–20 short-form videos per week across multiple concurrent briefs and variations.
-
Structured Workflow Experience: Experience working within a structured project management system (ClickUp, Asana, or equivalent) with comfort executing from clear briefs with minimal ambiguity.
-
Execution & Reliability: High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and consistent ability to meet weekly deadlines across parallel tasks — with clear async communication and responsiveness during overlap hours.
-
Adaptability & Brand Absorption: Ability to absorb brand voice and visual standards quickly, adapt to evolving tools and formats, and handle subjective creative feedback without defensiveness.
Bonus Points if:
- You have experience using AI-enabled creative tools such as Descript, Adobe Enhance, Filmora, or similar.
- You have familiarity with screen recording or demo tools such as Screen.Studio or MockRocket.
- You have exposure to Meta Ads creative workflows or performance-driven content production.
- You have a general understanding of social algorithms and engagement mechanics.
- You have prior experience editing for consumer brands in DTC or lifestyle categories.
