Who We Are

GrowthAssistant connects top marketing and operations talent with fast-growing companies that depend on great execution to scale. Founded in 2021 and named by Forbes as one of the best startups to work at, we're a permanently remote team that runs on integrity, proactive candor, and a bias toward action — and we prioritize the human experience in everything we do. We hire for skill and for heart, and we invest in our people for the long haul.

The Opportunity

We're hiring an SEO & AEO Content Specialist to own organic and AI-search visibility for a fast-growing marketing organization serving enterprise and growth-stage brands across financial services, SaaS, and other verticals — managing the content publishing workflow end-to-end, from on-page SEO checks, internal linking, and keyword research through topical mapping, editorial briefs, and LLM-visibility tracking; you'll keep content optimized for both traditional search and AI-driven discovery (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and similar surfaces), working alongside copywriters and a lean, distributed team, with a clear path to owning more of the strategy layer as the practice matures.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

  • Content Publishing & QA: Manage the final publishing workflow for a recurring monthly content volume — reviewing approved content for formatting, links, metadata, and on-page completeness before publishing through the company's CMS per established permissions and approval procedures.
  • Internal Linking & On-Page SEO: Identify and add relevant internal links before content is published using the sitemap, existing content, and documented linking processes; use Claude or similar AI tools to generate and validate linking recommendations; ensure anchor text and placement are natural, accurate, and reader-friendly.
  • Keyword & Content Research: Conduct keyword, competitor, and topic research using Semrush, Conductor, or comparable tools; identify content opportunities based on search demand and content gaps; and organize findings in clear, actionable planning documents.
  • Topical Mapping & Calendar: Own topical maps for core categories — map keywords to page types/templates, prevent cannibalization, and plan the content calendar by funnel stage and seasonality.
  • Content Briefs: Turn entity/intent research into concise editorial briefs — intent, primary/secondary keywords, required entities/questions, internal links, schema type, CTA, and success metric — that editors and writers can execute against.
  • SEO Reporting & Technical Monitoring: Assist with recurring SEO performance reporting; track publishing activity, rankings, and traffic; monitor crawl/indexation, sitemaps, canonicals/redirects, and Core Web Vitals in Google Search Console; flag technical issues and support basic audits.
  • LLM Visibility & AI Search Tracking: Use LLM-visibility tools (e.g. AthenaHQ) to surface trusted sources for briefs and structure outputs for clear entities and citation-friendly formatting; track LLM mentions/citations over time and monitor AI Overviews and SERP shifts.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 2+ years of hands-on SEO, content operations, or on-page optimization experience (agency or in-house) with a proven track record of published results.
  • CMS Proficiency: Direct experience managing and publishing content in platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, HubSpot, or custom enterprise CMS setups.
  • SEO Tooling: Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, technical crawlers (e.g., Screaming Frog), PageSpeed Insights, and major SEO suites (Semrush, Conductor, Ahrefs).
  • AEO/GEO & AI Literacy: Active engagement with modern AI search paradigms and hands-on comfort using tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or specialized LLM-visibility platforms to streamline research and workflows.
  • Content Architecture: Ability to build detailed, intent-driven content briefs and understand information architecture, topic clusters, and SERP feature optimization without needing to write the primary copy yourself.
  • Detail & Process Rigor: High attention to detail regarding formatting, technical tags, and broken links, combined with strong written English communication skills.

Bonus Points if:

  • You have previous SEO or content experience within a regulated, terminology-heavy content environment such as insurance or financial services.
  • You have experience supporting technical SEO audits or website health reporting.
  • You have experience working with large sitemaps and content libraries, including structured enterprise CMS platforms.
  • You have local SEO fundamentals: Google Business Profile operations, citations, reviews, and geo-page content patterns.
  • You have experience with AI Overviews dynamics, content-freshness systems, and LLM tracking/visibility tools.
  • You have a background in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
