The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-aptitude, systems-minded Data Analytics Support Analyst to become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our internal database and reporting infrastructure. In this role, you will navigate complex table structures to fulfill ad-hoc requests and build sophisticated dashboards in Omni (a semantic-layer BI tool similar to Looker). You aren't just "pulling numbers"; you are ensuring data integrity across departments and translating raw datasets into actionable business intelligence. If you are an intermediate SQL expert who thrives in ambiguous environments and enjoys solving downstream reporting issues, we want you on our team.


What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

  • Database Mastery: Become an SME on the existing database and table structures to provide rapid-response ad-hoc reporting.
  • BI Dashboarding: Build, manage, and optimize reports and dashboards within the Omni BI platform.
  • Request Management: Intake new reporting requests from cross-functional teams while providing ongoing support for previously built visualizations.
  • Data Integrity: Audit and improve data accuracy across all dashboards, ensuring that metrics remain consistent and reliable.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with various departments to identify data gaps and provide the insights needed for operational success.
  • Documentation: Write and update SOPs and internal guides to standardize reporting conventions and improve team self-service.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: (Nice-to-Have) Troubleshoot table structures and indexes in Postgres to resolve downstream reporting friction.


What You Bring

  • Experience: 2–3+ years of experience with semantic-layer BI tools (specifically Looker, Omni, Mode, Metabase, or Sigma).
  • SQL Proficiency: 2+ years of intermediate SQL experience; you are comfortable writing complex joins and CTEs.
  • Visual Storytelling: Proven success in data visualization and a strong eye for clean, intuitive dashboard design.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze large, disparate datasets from multiple sources.
  • Tech Savvy: High aptitude for learning new tools quickly and experience using AI tools for prompt-based problem-solving.
  • Communication: Professional writing skills and the ability to translate technical data into "client-ready" summaries.
  • Availability: Ability to work 9:00 am – 5:00 pm PT (PST).


Bonus Points if:

  • You have experience working with Postgres databases.
  • You are familiar with logistics or the construction industry.
  • You have a background in performance tuning (indexes and table structures).
