The Opportunity
We're hiring a Native Media Buyer to join a high-volume performance marketing agency managing a portfolio of high-value client accounts across native advertising platforms — someone who can own end-to-end media execution independently, work backwards from a CPL or CPA goal, and make sharp optimization decisions without needing step-by-step direction. You'll run daily pacing, bidding, targeting, and creative testing across platforms like Taboola, Outbrain, Revcontent, NewsBreak, and SmartNews; adapt fluently to client-specific KPI frameworks; and surface proactive insights to senior leadership — with a long-term path toward deeper account ownership and helping shape the internal playbooks that will define how this team scales.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

End-to-End Media Execution: Own full campaign execution for a dedicated set of client accounts across native platforms (Taboola, Outbrain, Revcontent, NewsBreak, SmartNews), managing pacing, bid strategy, placement, and targeting optimizations daily with a high degree of independent judgment

Performance Optimization: Work backwards from CPL and CPA goals to build and execute optimization strategies; identify scaling opportunities and performance risks early, implement corrective actions quickly, and communicate decisions and escalations with clear context and proposed next steps

Audience & Targeting Strategy: Build and continuously refine audience segments based on performance data — identifying, testing, and iterating on targeting sets rather than relying on default or inherited configurations

Tracking & Attribution: Validate and troubleshoot tracking accuracy across pixels, UTMs, postbacks, and conversion events; resolve attribution discrepancies to ensure reporting integrity

Creative & Landing Page Testing: Run structured tests across headlines, images, video, audio, and placements to surface performance insights and feed recommendations back to the creative team

Reporting & Documentation: Deliver proactive daily and weekly performance updates to the Director of Platform Success with context and recommended next steps; maintain clean campaign documentation, naming conventions, and operational records

Platform & Policy Compliance: Ensure all campaigns and creatives meet platform policy requirements and brand safety standards; coordinate with platform reps and internal teams to resolve delivery, policy, or account issues as they arise
What You Bring

Performance Media Experience: 3+ years of hands-on media buying experience in performance marketing, with a demonstrated ability to work backwards from a CPL/CPA goal and build a media plan to achieve it — agency background strongly preferred, or a proven high-volume in-house track record managing multiple accounts simultaneously

Native Platform Fluency: Deep hands-on expertise in at least one native advertising platform (Taboola, Outbrain, Revcontent, NewsBreak, SmartNews, or similar) with the analytical chops to diagnose performance issues and translate findings into clear optimization decisions

Tracking Fundamentals: Solid command of campaign tracking essentials — pixels, UTMs, conversion events, and postbacks — with the ability to validate accuracy and resolve attribution issues independently

Analytical & Reporting Skills: Intermediate Google Sheets or Excel proficiency for pacing, analysis, and reporting; strong fluency across performance KPIs (CPA, CPC, CTR, CVR, ROAS, margin contribution)

Communication & Documentation: Excellent written English and strong documentation habits — you write clearly, keep records clean, and can adapt your communication to client-specific KPI terminology and performance frameworks

Builder Mentality: Comfortable operating in a high-velocity, evolving environment where processes are still being built — you can write the playbook as you go and thrive without a rigid structure to lean on; available 8:30–5:30 CT
Bonus Points if:
- You have hands-on experience across multiple native platforms (Taboola, Outbrain, Revcontent, NewsBreak, SmartNews, OpenWeb, LiveIntent)
- You have deeper buying experience on at least one other major platform such as Meta, Snap+, or TikTok
- You can identify what creative angles, headlines, and formats are driving results and surface actionable recommendations to the creative team
- You have experience in political, advocacy, health, finance, or other regulated or performance-heavy verticals
